The Harlem Bay Network PROS Center; The Mental Health Association of NYC.
New York, New York

This project builds out an 8,205 sq. ft. leased space on the third floor of a converted industrial loft building to house the PROS program for the Mental Health Association of NYC. The program offers classes and individual support on setting and reaching goals in the areas of employment, education, relationships and community living for adults with mental illness. The center provides nine classrooms, a commercial kitchen, offices and support spaces.

The design retains the original high ceilings and brick walls to create a non-institutional, open, loft like feel. Although on a tight budget, the project incorporates a number of energy efficiency features, including, adding wall insulation. Multi-zone split system heat pumps provide space conditioning with individual controls to all spaces. All lights are controlled by occupancy sensors
